Give School for a Year

In 2018, we launched a scholarship program to help children in the community attend school—something many families in Haiti can't afford, as education isn't free. We were thrilled to meet the students, but it was their mothers who surprised us most. With tears in their eyes, they said, “Thank you for letting us keep our children.” At first, we didn't understand—until we learned that the daily school meal meant they no longer had to consider placing their children in orphanages or sending them away as restaveks (child slaves) just to ensure they had food. For just $250 a year, these scholarships are not only opening classroom doors—they're keeping families together.
